Christopher G. Edwards, CPA, is the Interim Chief Financial Officer of Port Houston, where he helps lead the financial strategy behind one of the nation’s most important maritime gateways, including major infrastructure expansion, capital sourcing, enterprise risk management, data modernization, and finance transformation initiatives.

A fourth-generation Aggie with degrees in accounting and management information systems from Texas A&M University, Christopher brings more than 25 years of experience across maritime, refining, utilities, logistics, private equity backed turnarounds, and public port operations.

Raised in an auto repair shop as the son of a mechanic and a math teacher, he developed an early respect for practical problem solving, disciplined analysis, and the people who keep complex systems running. Before returning to Texas, he spent 15 years in Hawaii leading finance, operations, post-acquisition integration, fleet reinvestment, systems modernization, and transformation projects across island energy and maritime businesses, including regulated shipping, refinery logistics, marine operations, and utility infrastructure. At Port Houston, he is applying that same operator’s mindset and financial rigor to help build the tools, teams, funding structures, and decision systems needed for long-term growth along the Houston Ship Channel.

Christopher lives in Cat Spring, Texas, with his wife, Sunnie, and is the proud father of Zoey, Hypatia, and Jack.
